Perhaps a Harvard law degree should exclude you from consideration. I agree that some well educated, solid, reliable conservatives would be better then the current witches brew we’ve got. So frustrating!!

Emily, I love your chutzpah. You call it as you see it. We need to eliminate all the RINO flavored, pseudo-conservative types from the party. If the government was done right, you should never get a Mitch McConnell, and GOD forbid a Nancy Pelosi. Let's stop pretending that the Lindsay Grahams of the world are true conservatives. They are just opportunists. Moving forward, every candidate running for office should make term limits a part of his platform (2-terms for Senators and 6-terms for Congress). And when they don't, we should term limit them at the ballot box.

Keep kicking these pseudo-conservatives in the A**!

The problem is, instead of reading our founding documents and case law, they read Vanity Fair, hoping for their puff piece.

Your so right we need to ignore lawyers in general. Mark Levin would have been the best choice.

I was a Federalist Society member until a year ago. I’m glad to see my opinion was not a minority of one.

No one can convince me that Trump's Supremes are not ruling in an effort to squelch the "pack the court crowd" which makes the way they are ruling even worse.

I wonder how much of this the republicans in the Senate knew or at least suspected (especially Lindsay Graham). I watched every minute of the hearings for all three. I was focused on my outrage at their treatment and not their written opinions.

I would think if the federalist society picked Roberts-that should have been enough of a heads up. So here we are-another 20-30 years of spineless, namby-pamby decisions based on God knows what that will continue to plummet our country into an even more amoral, confused society.

I was hoping for a SCOTUS that shored up the republic and states self determination. I fear those days are gone.

PS-I really like your new hair style. You look younger.

Well, I dunno. It seems like a rather straightforward deal to follow judges over a period of some years, scrutinize their decisions and opinions, and finally make determinations as to the fitness of said judges from a Conservative perspective. So what happened? Are they trying to sabotage us, or are they simply moronic? I have a hard time thinking the judges are putting on some act.

Thank you Emerald. A comprehensive spot-on analysis of the recent (atrocious) Supreme Court picks. This can and should be laid at the feet of the Federalist Society who we all trusted. My only disagreement is that Roberts is the worst. If you and your spouse enjoy the admiration of, and being feted by the Washington D.C. crowd, you are no conservative. And now he has an understudy in Kavanaugh. Very frustrating.

I sat in Cornell Law School classes with Leonard Leo. Here is the dirty secret for EVERY lawyer personality...there is a progressive streak in all of us. Me, GUILTY! Leonard is probably as pure a conservative as anyone I ever observed. I have no idea how he has EVOLVED. But as for Justices Gorsuch, Cavanuagh, Comey-Barret, Roberts, on and on...I have no doubt...they cannot resist the urge for "inner equity"...for whatever reasons. Leonard and DJT could do no more.

Notice only the Conservatives EVER EVOLVE...and few resist.

Every single Supreme Court pick is a BUST. The first clue was when Gorsuch went door to door to all the DEM Senator offices before his confirmation hearing, bashing Trump unmercifully. I said at the time, Trump should have pulled that idiot's nomination immediately. Not a single Trump SCOTUS appointment is a conservative.

We have an overwhelmingly Protestant country, but have ZERO Protestants on the Court.

All Catholics and Jews. Nothing wrong with Catholics or Jews being on the Court...but EVERY SINGLE MEMBER???

We keep getting played.
